Today it starts

So today I enter the world of blogging.  I’ve seen so many other bloggs, and now it’s time for me to add my own flavor, and some glitter to my own blog.

So lets talk about how this House Of Henna thing started.  I am a artist.  I got my BA in Fine Arts from Caldwell College, concentration in painting.  Art has always been a love of mine.  When my kids were smaller there was not much time for painting.  But this past summer I started to draw again.  My drawings were mainly of lines and movement, it was so interesting to see the line take on a life of their own.  So my husband, who has always been my inspiration, told me I should do those same drawings with henna.  I of course never having worked with henna, did not really take it much further.  Until the day, he showed up at home with 2 tubes of henna.  And then………..well the rest is history.

I have always had a interest in Middle Eastern art.  So the henna was just something that I found easy to adapt to, easy to use and always wondering what’s the next thing I can use it on.  This entire thing with henna took off in June on 2011, and since then, it has been a amazing trip.  I have met so many creative people, some in the art world, others in the publishing world, all forms of trades in the beauty industry.  All very motivated people, who have taken their art and grew with it, and others who continue to explore ways to express themselves.  Now, I too am on that journey.
